About this deal

the way this is narrated, through interviews with Freddie himself over the years, are much more informative and truly shows how he was and what he thought about himself and his beloved Queen. Mercury, who was a Parsi and grew up in India, has been referred to as "Britain's first Asian rock star. I also wished that the quotes had been credited; who they were spoken to and especially when they were said would have helped immensely to put things in perspective. Some songs I didn't know and had to watch it on YT and to see him on stage or just listening to his wonderful voice, ahh, made me so sad :( I don't think only fans of Queen or Freddie should read this.

Freddie Mercury: A Life, In His Own Words" is the nearest thing to Freddie’s autobiography as it is possible to achieve.

Luego de ese éxito hubieron otros como "Radio Gaga", "Another one bites the dust" escritas por Roger y Jhon respectivamente.

Told across 20 chapters and 194 pages, this is Freddie’s life in his own words - delivered in his own inimitable, unpredictable, invariably funny, often poignant, and always entertaining way. Instead of a biography, in which the subject’s life is presented in a timeline and with a set of sources by a biographer, this book is put together to be Freddie Mercury’s own words. There were parts of this book that were clearly adapted from interviews of Freddie Mercury and you could almost tell that there was context missing, such as the question asked or perhaps something else he said that hadn’t been recorded. While the concept of bringing Freddie Mercury’s life to light with only his own words is lovely in theory, I do wish there had been more establishing facts. Spurred on by their almost uncontrollable ambitious and forthright front man, Queen succeeded in becoming one of the biggest bands on the planet. His rise to fame in the band followed by the media coverage of his lifestyle and finally his tragic passing due to AIDS have been well documented in books, documentaries, and even the film Bohemian Rhapsody.

I have no criticism for the words of Freddie Mercury himself, but the way this book was put together wasn't that cohesive and because it was taken from lots of different interviews, some parts of it were very repetitive. In addition to his work with Queen, he also led a solo career and was occasionally a producer and guest musician (piano or vocals) for other artists.
