About this deal

Remember Deep Silver's announcement of the Dead Island Riptide Zombie Bait Edition that stirred up controversy a few months ago? Dead Island: Riptide's "Rigor Mortis Edition" has everything you need to survive a zombie invasion: a small suitcase, a zombie hula girl figurine, a bottle opener that looks like a hand, and a key. When it comes to issues like this, we all behave on instinct, much like the zombies that are at the heart of Deep Silver’s output. They say that the collector's artwork is simply a small postcard, and that it didn't look as good as in the pictures.

Dead Island: Riptide received mixed reviews, with most critics praising the gameplay and new setting, but criticizing the many unfixed issues found in the original, as well as the lack of new content. Dead Island Riptide is getting its own Collector's Edition, with a set of baubles for devoted fans of tropical island zombies.Update: Dead Island Riptide publisher Deep Silver has taken to Twitter to apologise for its controversial bloodied, buxom bust collectible. We want to tell you how the news matters to you -- not just as a decision-maker at a game studio, but also as a fan of games. Those complaining about the Zombie Bait edition (which was only going to be sold in Europe and Australia) were the next set of zombies, drawn in by the smell of fresh controversy. We won’t judge the DLC contents as we have no idea what they might be — extra weapons and new missions would be great; varying colors of paint for Dead Island Riptide’s in-game boats would be less great — but the physical components of this package don’t seem all that different from what you’d find in a standard Collector’s Edition game release.Even as display pieces, how would someone work a zombie hula girl bobble head figurine and faux bungalow key into the decor of any room? Released in April 2013 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360, Riptide serves as a continuation of the story of 2011's Dead Island, with the original four survivors, plus a new survivor, arriving on another island in the Banoi archipelago, which has also been overrun by zombies. Dead Island: Riptide is a 2013 action role-playing game developed by Techland and published by Deep Silver.
